Art In The Park Day - 24th August 2008
On Sunday 24th August, Black Park will once again be playing host to the 7th South Bucks District Council, 'Art in the Park Day'. On the day, many artists will come along and create a piece of temporary (ephemeral) artwork which will remain in the park for the duration of its life. This will be done either with the help of the public, or by artists working on their own material in such a way that members of the public are encouraged to join in, inspiring them to become creative generally. There will be artists working with clay, found wood and wildflowers, pebbles, a lace maker teaching hand made bobbin lace, a wood turner and well as other artists. This event will also mark the occasion of the handover of the Olympic Games from Beijing to London so keep an eye out for more exciting activities linked to this important moment. A fabulous day out awaits you with lots of artists working in different areas around the beautiful lake in the centre of Black Park. There is an abundance of wildlife both on the water and in the woodland throughout the park. Whilst there you may also like to take advantage of some of the other attractions such as the South Bucks Sculpture trail which consists of 6 very different sculptures placed around the park. |
